The Real Talk on Black America: From Struggle to Strength
The Morning Trap | 002 | March 5, 2025
Alright, family, gather ‘round.
It’s time for that real talk, straight up. Forget all the fluff and fake smiles—last night the 34-count-Convicted-Felon-and-Twice-Impeached Occuputant of the White House delivered a speech to a Joint Session of Congress.
What we ain’t ‘bout to do is recap it or even talk about the lies he told. Instead, I will be telling y’all KinFam what the REAL State of Black America, is March 2025 style.
Ain’t no sugar-coating here.
This is for the ones who’ve been hustling, struggling, and rising through it all. We’re talking economics, education, the justice system, voting rights, and healthcare.
Buckle up, ‘cause we’re gonna hit this like a freight train through the Bronx.
Let’s talk Economics first.
Now, y’all know how we do. We’ve been grinding since day one. And we’ve come a long way, no doubt. Unemployment for Black folks is down, but let’s be real: it’s still not enough. We got Black women leading the charge, but even with that, our wallets still aren’t getting fat the way they should.
The numbers don’t lie: the average Black household is making 33% less than white folks. Think about that—more hours, more sweat, but the check? Still smaller. Ain’t that some shit?
And don’t get me started on wealth. The wealth gap between Black folks and white folks is wide as hell. $15 for every $100 that a white person has? We’ve been building this country, but they act like we can’t even build a real legacy.
Our businesses are on the rise, though! But the truth is, Black-owned businesses still account for only 3% of the firms in the country. Yeah, we’re building, but we gotta build harder and smarter.
Banks ain’t giving us shit.
We gotta go the hustle route, build it up from the ground up. Ain’t nobody handing us the keys, but we taking them anyway.
Now, Education—we know the system’s been f**king us over for years.
Student loans still got us in a chokehold. Black graduates? We’re $25,000 in the hole compared to white folks. And even though we’re out here fighting to get our degrees, the system don’t make it easy.
The same way schools strip our culture is the same way they’re stripping our future. And don’t even talk to me about these HBCU underfunding numbers.
They’ve been neglecting us and trying to erase us since day one, but HBCUs still produce Black excellence—even on a shoestring budget.
Meanwhile, public schools in our neighborhoods are underfunded as hell, throwing our kids into schools with no resources, no teachers who look like them, no real chance at a decent future.
And now they wanna rewrite history in our classrooms?
F**k that! We’re not having it.
History is our story to tell, not theirs.
The truth will come out, whether they like it or not.
Criminal Justice—where do I even start?
Ain’t nothing “just” about it. They got Black men and women locked up 5 times more than white folks.
How is that possible in 2025?
The prison system is a joke, and we’re the punchline. Cops keep killing us and getting away with it.
Police reform?
They talk a good game, but they’re not making the real changes.
We’ve seen all the hashtags.
But we ain’t just gonna keep tweeting and marching; we’re pushing for real action. We want them officers held accountable, we want those policies that don’t target our communities, and most importantly—we want our people out of the system and back into our communities, where we can raise each other up.
When it comes to voting rights, it’s the same old fight. After all the work we did to get that vote, these racist MAGA politicians are trying to take it away.
Voter suppression laws are popping up everywhere, trying to stop us from casting a ballot, like they’re scared of what’ll happen when we show up and show out.
They keep throwing these obstacles at us, trying to make it harder to vote, but we’ll be damned if we let them win.
The vote is power, and we ain’t backing down.
We fought for it, we’ll keep fighting for it, and we’ll make sure we get to the polls, no matter what.
And last but not least, let’s talk Health.
It’s a damn shame that in 2025, Black folks still gotta die younger.
Health disparities? Yeah, they’re real.
Black women are dying in childbirth three times more than white women. You hear me?
Three times more.
That’s some sickening shit, and we won’t accept it.
But that’s not the only thing: hypertension, diabetes, mental health—we’re suffering in silence.
But we’re waking up. The system failed us on COVID, but we’re pushing for better healthcare, better access, and a future where we live and not just survive.
So what’s the takeaway here, KinFam? It ain’t all doom and gloom. It’s about action. We’ve been through hell, but we’re still here.
We’re still fighting.
We’re still pushing.
And as long as we keep grinding, as long as we stand together, demand more, and never back down, we’re gonna take what’s ours.
This ain’t just a sermon—it’s a movement.
Ain’t no way we’re letting these systems keep us down.
We’re rising up, and we’re owning it all.
It’s on us to make sure the next generation doesn’t have to fight the same fights we did.
We’re gonna keep building, healing, and leading—and that’s the truth.
Now let’s get to work, cause we’re far from finished.
Can I get an Amen?
AMEN.
